NIKE RUGBY AD ONLINE ONLY
Sports giant Nike have unveiled their latest rugby ad starring some of the world's top players - including Lawrence Dallagio, Keith Wood and Fabien Galthie - but surprisingly, it won't be seen on TV screens. The multi-million dollar film - entitled 'Keep The Ball Alive' - features the cream of world rugby taking part in an impromptu mass game of street rugby and creating havoc in a busy urban setting.
The ad, which sees a succession of rugby stars pick up the loose ball and charge at breakneck pace through the city and across rooftops, scattering pedestrians like ninepins, is set to a thumping soundtrack and is guaranteed to grab the attention of fans and non-fans alike. This is must see TV - http://www.keeptheballalive.com/

PAC POSTS WINS OVER NOVA & PAX RIVER
NOV 1, 2003 - Gravely Point, Alexandria, VA - Opening the day with a win is always a good sign and the C-side started right by rolling over Pax River, 39-7, in an excellent display of teamwork. The forwards both controlled their own possession while denying useful possession to the opposition, while the backs kept the ball moving ahead and maintained possession. New acquisition and Bottom Line Man of the Match Pete Foreman, recently claimed of the waiver wires from the Hartford Wanderers (well OK, maybe he is here working on his MBA at G-town), exemplified that good work ethic and fittingly scored the first try on a bulling run across the line. Flyhalf Arnaud Dupoizat converted. 7-0
In a continuation of the team theme, the forwards combined to steal a Pax lineout, and the ball was quickly spun to the backs. Fullback Diego Arias blasted through the line and effortlessly sliced up the rest of the defenders. 12-0. Shortly thereafter it was the forwards turn to score as lock Pete Sickle scored on a penalty play, which Arnaud converted. PAC 19-0 PAX River. Still attacking consistently the side forced another penalty which Arnaud put through the posts. PAC 22-0 PAX River. The only imperfection marring the first half was an awkward turn-over which Pax exploited for a try against the general run of play. A nice individual play from the PAX River outside center, the back made a smart play when tackled just inches short of the line by releasing the ball and forcing the only PAC defender to release him from the tackle. Thus freeing him to get to his feet, pickup the ball and fall into the try zone, leaving the halftime score 22-7.
Any possible Pax River second half comeback was scotched when replacement center Richard "Butch" Butcher scored a try off another Sickle break. PAC 27-7 PAX River. The pressure continued, producing good continuity and support, and #8 Ian Speight capitalized on overall team effort for another try, which Arnaud converted. PAC 34-7 PAX River. From that point on it was purely a matter of playing out the string. Pax was able to mount much attack and the C's continued their relentless assault. Sickle finished off the scoring with a short burst off a quick tap penalty. 39-7.
A-side vs NOVA PAC finished the MARFU season with a solid 40-27 victory over NOVA. PAC ran out to an early lead, and cruised to the finish in the second half. Though showing some laziness in the second half and yielding a couple tries, PAC dominated both set pieces and open play during this match. Veteran #8 Randy Stephens came away with the Bottom Line Man of the Match honors.
B's v. NOVA Perhaps it was the team photo, taken before the game, which prematurely signaled the end of a very successful season. Perhaps it was left-over Halloween trickery; perhaps it was voodoo. Whatever it was, NOVA B brought their "A" game while the PAC B's definitely did not. The final score of 34-5 (17-0 at half) thoroughly reflects Nova's dominance as the PAC second XV had trouble maintaining possession, were overwhelmed in rucks and played porous defense most of the match. The sole try came on a nice 80 yard burst by MJ Turnier, providing the only spark in an otherwise listless affair. It was not a good way to end an otherwise good season for the B's who have much to be proud of, but not on this day.
PAC WINS MARFU CHAMPIONSHIP DIVISION PAC has won the 2003 MARFU championship with a thoroughly convincing undefeated season. The fall season is mostly a warm-up for the top side. Competing in the local union with the division one teams, there is no playoff ahead for PAC. The focus is on getting the team and players ready for the SuperLeague season. PAC achieved that task and more by going undefeated and taking another MARFU trophy. The B and C-sides also followed on with nearly as successful seasons. The B-side lost only their last game of the season finishing first in the MARFU B-side competition. Meanwhile the c-side also only lost one match in the Potomac Rugby Union Division 3 competition finishing second. (The PAC C-side is not participating in the MARFU division 3 playoffs.)
