First Tourney This Weekend, Job Leads, Nats Updates
|
|
Thanks to the guys who made it out for last week's Nats games. the next game is June 22. Sign-up with Stefan.
Tracy Allen will be conducting a TIPS class tonight (Tuesday) at 5 p.m. at the stadium (offices to the right side of the Centre gate) IDs will also be taken. For the "few" portable positions open you must be TIP trained. They will be checking for TIP cards. This is important as the client will also check.
Due top the heat the Nationals have agreed to allow shorts. They can be tan or dark blue. No jeans, cargo shorts, open toed shoes. If anyone can turn the heat down, please do so ;)
Finally, we need guys to sign-up to setup the field for the PAC 7s tourney. if you are playing signup for setup on Friday and if you are not playing we need you on Saturday to help marshal and support the event.
Cheers.

Summer Youth Rugby in Silver Spring, MD & Virginia |
|
Sign-Up Today
As spring turns into summer, so does the 2008 summer youth rugby season. As many of you know, PAC has been running a non-contact youth program in Silver Spring, MD for the past few summers. Our numbers and success has grown each summer - last year culminating in the under-9 championship!
The tag rugby program is open to boys and girls ages 6 through 15. The program is based in Silver Spring, MD though players from any community are welcome. Co-ed teams are organized to suit the number of youth in the program. we have an in-house under-7 program to introduce the game to our youngest athletes...some of whomo will get to play in the u9s games, if skill, size and competition is appropriate. The under 9 and under 11 group will practice together but play games in thier respective age groups. The older "U15" group is similarly split into two teams, under-13 and under-15 - they also practice together but seperate for games against appropriate age based teams. The team participates in the Potomac Rugby Union Youth League with other u9, u11, u13, u15 teams from the Washington metro area.
The program runs for about 9 weeks, through June and July, until the first weekend in August. Practices are on Monday and Thursday evenings (first practice will be Thursday evening, May 29th). Games will start in the 3rd or 4th weekend of June. Games are played every Saturday (AM).
We are always looking for new players and new coaches (even part-time coaches who can't make Saturdays due to rugby)....but equally important, players and alumni can be one of the best promoters of the youth program...to your friends, families or neighbors. (And there are plenty of other programs in other parts of the metro area for those who are interested but not close by).
We have kids from Silver Spring, DC, Kensington, Takoma, Bethesda, Chevy Chase and beyond...all are welcome.

Future PAC Player Seeks Law Enforcement Leads |
|
Reply with Leads
The rugby captain at Bowling Green wants to come to the DC area and work in law enforcement. His first choice is an entry level job with an agency but is willing to put some time in with a local police force.
Any thoughts or if you can pass this around to anyone who might have some leads would be great. He is planning on moving to DC by the end of the summer, but is available to come into town to interview
