Newsline 09.18.07: Filming Release, Updates

Gents, please see the following updates and note from Robin about the upcoming match filming. Please fill out the form at training or at the game on Saturday.

National Geographic will be filming our matches this weekend September 22nd and then a couple of training seasons in the coming weeks. Hopefully the footage will form part of a program on the Explorer series called "Ultimate Males".

I have attached the release form they would like everyone who is playing on those days or being filmed to sign otherwise your image will need to be obscured.

Also they are keen to test players testosterone levels before and after the game (it evolves spitting into a jar I believe) - We will leave this up to individuals if you wish to take part in this.

If you have any questions please let me know - I hope you will agree this is going to be a great opportunity to gain some fantastic exposure for PAC Rugby and our great game as well.

Notes from Coach

We begin our Stewart Shield Competition starting this Saturday against 2-0 Boston Irish Wolfhounds who will be coming to play us here in DC.  They have defeated both NYAC (25-6) and Philly White Marsh (74-3) so this will be a huge challenge for us.

The Stewart Shield will be 4 matches and then a playoff - a good way for everyone to get ready for the National All-Star Championships (December 6-9 in Orlando).  From all of the conversations USA Rugby wants to expand the NA4 teams to 4 US teams and will be using the All-Star Championships to select players to fill  those teams.  For those of you wanting to get looked at for a NA4 squad playing in the Stewart Shield and then playing at the All-Star Championships is your pathway.

This past Saturday we had one of the Old Boys - Commando who played hooker for the D2 B-side and he had a stormer of a match winning 7 hooks against the head and scoring a try.
